Wherefore art thou Tree

This analysis is a mere glimpse into my current predicament
As a specimen of the gymnosperm phylum
Due to my 'tree' nature, I am unable to possess a certain sentience
That other organisms apparently have retained
By some miracle

What a shame that my nonexistent encephalon
Is incapable of understanding this comparison
And leaves me to ponder the exact reasoning behind this classification

But as the maxim goes, ignorance is bliss
Whether or not that is a treelike emotion or not remains to be seen
The bliss
Trees are incapable of ignorance for the most part
Despite our lack of a cephalized nervous system and auditory canals
Our innate knowledge of emotions and beings make us excellent individuals
To confide and rely upon

Why?
There is no roundabout meaning to a tree
No need for a lengthy periphrasis regarding our purpose or meaning
We are there to live and serve
To aid and listen
To Tree

Drill

All the lights in the sky
Resonate deeply inside our being
To push us
Move ourselves forward
Flying through the clouds
Scared and blind
With wonder and hope

A constant spiral
Of swirling passion and fear
Moving towards nightfall
Unaware of the problems that arise
But with the will and power to fight them
To the ends of the earth

This spiral is a soul
Thrown into the stars
Chased after and
Followed past the cosmos
Into the eternal sky
With possibilities that flood the mind

Azche

Back and forth the body rocks
Fire breathes through the veins
As eyes stare out at the embers
Watching the world burn around

The gentle thumping becomes silence
A last look as dusk covers it all
Before the blackness comes to the eyes
Belief is suspended and the end comes
But it is merely a lost notion

An grandiose idea
That some day it all will be gone
One will have become something
Yet all that waits is the endless recurrence of time
To rise from the ashes
And begin again
